Tickets go on sale May 1st
for the “Event of the Summer”,
BARNDANCE 2013!! |
The best seven hours of summer are from 5pm. til Midnight July 20, 2013. Due to the great response last year, 4 for 3 is back if purchased by Monday, July 6th. Tickets are available at all American Community Bank locations, or online at www.gavers.org.
Entering it’s 14th year, BARNDANCE is the best FUNdraiser of the year. The Gavers Community Cancer Foundation is continually impressed with the support of our volunteers, sponsors and guests. In 2011, there were over 2,400 attendees at BARNDANCE, and we hope to surpass that this year.
BARNDANCE has always been about raising awareness, and encouraging people to be checked for cancer. In that vein, last year we instituted a “4 for 3” pricing plan to encourage people to attend. Due to the great success, “4 for 3” is back.
This year’s BARNDANCE is shaping up to be the best ever!! For the uninitiated, here’s what to expect; for you veterans, enjoy!
The gates open at 5:00, and a BBQ dinner is served from 5:30 to 7:00. During that time, “RIck Monroe” will be entertaining us. Be sure to check out the “Mystery Box” raffle items, and get your boxes, and commemorative pins. |
- From 7:00 to 8:30, we present our “Never be Defeated” award winners, and have our live auction. This is the heart of the program, and the auctions get pretty lively, so you won’t want to miss it.

- 1st performer, starting at 5:30 is Rick Monroe. Rick Monroe takes life experiences that we all share… the events that touch our hearts and creates music that speaks directly to the soul in each of us. Whether in an intimate setting accompanied only by his acoustic guitar, a good old honky-tonk, or on stage playing with his band to thousands at an outdoor festival halfway around the world, Rick strives to connect to his audiences. He is always a huge crowd pleaser. Sample the music at http://www.rickmonroe.com

- 2nd band starting around 9:00 is DOT DOT DOT. Dot Dot Dot presents an intense live show with the refinement of seasoned pop professionalism. Since coming together in 2007, the band has performed over 700 shows and sold thousands of CDs – all without record label support. The co-ed quintet may be familiar to some as finalists on FOX TV’s “American Idol” spin-off show, “The Next Great American Band,” during its 2007 season. High-profile shows have followed, including appearances at the Sundance Film Festival, a VH1 Save the Music benefit, events for WGN, T-Mobile, Victoria’s Secret, Wrigley, and an invite to perform at President Obama’s 2010 “Moving America Forward” rally in Chicago. - Last, but not least, "Hans and the Hormones have the honor of closing BARNDANCE. These guys have been here every year, are local favorites, and we plan to keep having them back until they say no. Check them out on Facebook!
|
- At midnight, we’ll shut it down, and as you head to your cars, you’ll already be wondering what the date for 2014 is, and how you can volunteer. That’s what happens at BARNDANCE, once you have experienced it, you’re hooked!
