Get ready for the annual Gavers 5K Walk/Run event. The purpose of this event is to raise cancer awareness, promote education, check for early detection and raise money for treatment and research. Over the years, the Gavers Community Cancer Foundation has raised over $ 2.3 million dollars through the annual Barndance event, the motorcycle ride and the Walk/ Run. The proceeds have been given to — Centegra Health System, the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund at Rush University Medical Center, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Family Health Partnership Clinic.

Whether you are an avid runner and want to compete (awards given) or you’re just an individual that wants to support the Foundation’s mission and help raise money... the Get Runnin'; Get Checked 5K Walk/Run is for you. Bring your family and friends and join us!

Now the important part! You can see by the name of the walk/run that it is very important to the Foundation’s board of directors that people take "getting checked" seriously...the earlier you can detect cancer, the greater chances are for a full recovery. So come out and have some fun at the Get Go...Get Checked Walk/Run.

100% of the proceeds will go to the Gavers Community Cancer Foundation.

AWARDS
The overall male & female winners will each receive a trophy. Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place male & female finishers in each category.

T-SHIRTS
Participants will receive a Get Go, Get Checked T-shirt. Pre-registered racers are guaranteed a shirt on race day. Each runner/walker will also receive a bag full of coupons and souvenirs.
