Immediate Release:

I am sorry to report that our Board of Directors has decided to cancel our 21st annual Barndance event scheduled for July 18th, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  While this decision was difficult to process at first, ultimately it became an easy call when we considered the health and safety of our volunteers, sponsors, donors, survivors and attendees.

The Barndance is a hallmark annual community event in McHenry County as our team consisting of 100% volunteers has raised more than $8 million in our fight against cancer.   Dubbed the “Best 7 hours of summer,”our event celebrates survivorship and brings our community together to support a common cause.

To our partners in the fight against cancer (Northwestern Medicine, Rush University Medical Center, Family Health Partnership Clinic, Lurie’s Children Hospital and Testicular Cancer Foundation) we’re saddened that we can’t provide you the support we have over the years, and we salute you and your efforts to care for those who have been stricken by the virus.

Stay safe and we’ll see you at Barndance next summer, bigger and better than ever!
